Understanding the Qspec Referral Process

Qspec has diverse experience working with NDIS Participants and referring Health Professionals TO deliver NDIS funded home modifications.

The NDIS classifies home modifications as changes to the structure, layout or fittings of a participant’s home so that they can safely access and move in areas they frequently use.

Qspec delivers non-structural, complex and assistive technology solutions to NDIS participants residing in the area between Gympie, the Sunshine Coast and Brisbane.

Understanding the Qspec Referral Process

  1. To refer a NDIS participant please contact a Qspec office staff member by either calling 1300 781 774 or emailing info@qspec.com.au. If you already have the referral form please submit this. Qspec will require information about the participant’s plan and whether they are plan managed, self-managed or NDIA managed.
  2. Once contact is made a Qspec staff member will send out either a non-structural, complex or assistive technology NDIS Service Agreement only if a site visit is required. If a site visit is not required and the home modification can be quoted from an OT report the quote will be produced for the work outlined by the Health Professional. These quotes will take up to 48 hours to get back to you.
  3. If a joint site visit is required and the NDIS Service Agreement has been populated and returned a Qspec staff member will organise the joint site visit with a Qspec Builder, the Participant and the Health Professional.
  4. Funding from the Participant’s NDIS plan for the site visit should be allocated prior to the site visit taking place.
  5. Once the site visit has taken place a quote will be produced. For complex home modification quotes or complex assistive technology quotes please allow up to 1 week until a quote is received.
  6. Once you receive the quote and are happy to proceed please respond in writing with the approval to proceed. Please let Qspec know where the invoice is to be sent, either directly to the Plan Manager, client or uploaded to the NDIS portal.
  7. Once the quote acceptance has been received a Qspec staff member will be in contact to book in the home modification. If the home modification is complex a staff member will be in contact with a proposed start date. For complex modifications, the commencement date after quote acceptance can vary between 2 and 6 weeks.
